ISF-R - (Mirage DSK-8, DMS-8, DMS-1)

ISF-R is a replica of the Ensoniq ISF-1 Input Sampling Filter for the Mirage DSK-8, DMS-8 and DMS-1.

The ISF-R faithfully replicates the ISF-1 both technically and aesthetically: same printed circuit board with THT components, same appearance, shape and size. And, most importantly, it delivers the exact same sound characteristics to your samples.

The PCB has been slightly enlarged in width to accommodate the different mounting system of the newly manufactured plastic case. However, four additional mounting holes make it fully compatible with the original plastic case. This means that it is possible to install the ISF-R's PCB inside an ISF-1's plastic case (and even inside an SXQ-1/SQX-10's plastic case by drilling a hole to pass the audio cable through).

Just like the ISF-1, the ISF-R contains a 7-pole 150 dB per octave low-pass input filter and an A/D converter for sample rates of up to 50 kHz.

In 1985 this was made possible by two integrated circuits:

- AMI/AMS S3528 Analog Programmable Low-Pass Filter

- Analog Devices AD7574JN/AD7574KN Analog to Digital Converter

In the ISF-R both of these two chips are N.O.S.

What DIY KIT variant includes:

- PCB (fully assembled except for the audio cable)

- 20 cm mono audio cable

- jack connector

- 2 cable ties

- plastic case

- 4 screws

Please note that good soldering and manual skills are required to properly cut, assemble and solder the audio cable to the jack connector and to the PCB.

I am not responsible for any damage resulting to an improper worklabor.

What FULLY ASSEMBLED variant includes:

- A fully assembled ISF-R, ready to use.

Complete details on the ISF-1/ISF-R operation are available in the Mirage Musician's Manual and Advanced Sampler's Guide.

*MASOS Operating System is required to use the ISF-1/ISF-R with the Mirage and it is NOT included with the ISF-R.
